Designer Andrew Christian is a man of many firsts. He was the first to infuse technology into his underwear, was the first to create an undergarment that was "butt lifting" and was the first to create a product that helped to reduce love handles. So naturally, we wanted to chat him up. From the boxer briefs to the front-enhancing pouch, here's the man behind his namesake line.

What makes your product range unique? Andrew Christian underwear was the first underwear infused with technology. Our underwear comes in street, sport, fashion, and basic-themed lines and is available in a range of styles including low cut, super-low-cut, and boxer briefs. Each style is intricately designed using specialized dye treatments, printed graphics and innovative materials such as bamboo fiber, sports mesh, and patented moisture-wicking cotton blends. I was the first to introduce Ultra Slimming elastic in my underwear designs to reduce the appearance of love handles and also Flashback - Butt Lifting Technology. Boxer shorts are known for providing a lot of free space within them to maximize your comfort and to prevent any tightness from occurring. However in recent years some boxer shorts have gone from being completely free and open to sporting a slightly slimmer design. None of these modern slimmer cut boxer shorts are going to provide the same level of snugness as briefs or boxer briefs but they will give you less bagginess in your underwear. Overall this makes the boxer shorts look a little more modern and reduced the chance that they are going to ride up or bunch up, but sometimes it can make them a little tighter in some spots than they should be.

This is the main reason why boxer shorts with pouches are becoming more popular. A pouch was never really necessary with the ultra-baggy boxer shorts of yesterday but with the slimmer overall cuts having a pouch in the front to provide extra room for your genitals is an intelligent design element that provides additional comfort, and sometimes even additional support, to the men who prefer to wear them. While many boxer shorts still don’t provide a pouch, those that do are growing in popularity.
