This beautiful guy, with Kate Moss. Is so cute, so nice... soooo perfect!, I love it!. Enjoy!.
'90s supermodel, Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition star, and former face of Calvin Klein Carré Otis — who had a hell of a time with cocaine and heroin addiction, an abusive marriage to Mickey Rourke, and decades of anorexia during the time she was posing for all of those pretty pictures — says that normalizing her view of food and eating is the hardest thing she's ever done. Harder than stopping taking cocaine. Harder than kicking heroin.
Otis spoke to the addiction and recovery site the Fix about, well, addiction and recovery. She admits it's been "unbelievably frustrating" that the news outlets that have covered her new memoir, Beauty Disrupted (which she co-wrote with Jezebel contributor Hugo Schwyzer) have shown such tremendous interest in the passages that relate her relationship with Mickey Rourke — to the exclusion of anything else she writes about, such as her experiences modeling, battle with anorexia, and the fact that in the book Otis chose to at last name the man she says raped her repeatedly when she was 17, former Elite Models boss Gerald Marie. "I went to New York for press and it was three days of nothing but questions about the marriage," says the former supermodel. "But there were some things I just couldn't leave out. The marriage was part of the journey and shaped who I am today." She hopes that the book-buying public, if not reporters, will at least "read the whole fucking book!
Famous for his branded underwear, high-end fashion line and fragrance line, Calvin Klein has never been too chatty with the press. Notoriously private, Klein almost managed to legally squelch the publication of an unofficial tell-all about him that was published in the 90s. That has changed recently, and now he’s talking about everything that he previously felt was taboo and private, including his past struggle with drug addiction and meltdowns that happened in direct view of the public.
Drug Addiction “Meltdowns”Meltdowns? According to Klein, he wandered out onto the court during a basketball game at Madison Square Gardens back in 2003 while under the influence. Though he was in recovery for drug addiction, he suffered a relapse and ended up publicly embarrassing himself with his resulting behavior – and embarrassing his then-wife, Kelly, as well.
Said Klein: “I’ve had a couple [of meltdowns]. I’ll never forget, Kelly said, ‘You have to do it at a game before the playoffs when everyone is watching?’ I struggled with addiction and lots of people do. That was really a shameful, horrible moment. It had nothing to do with work. I’ve done enough therapy and enough work on myself. Addiction is not caused by stress on the job, even though lots of people in the fashion industry have suffered from the same problem. It’s not about the work. It has more to do with your childhood and lots of other things. You’re always in recovery. You’re always aware that this is something you don’t want to do, whether it’s drugs, sex, food. There are lots of addictions....
If I had to pick my favourite style decade right now, it's difficult. Who can forget about the Roaring Twenties of the flappers, the Surrealist Movement lead by Elsa Schiaparelli in the Thirties, or the New Look of Christian Dior in the 50s? However, my personal style reflect mostly the 90s, the Grunge Movement. Consisting of mostly vintage dresses from the 90s, denim jackets and loose button downs, being influenced is an understatement. I was born in the wrong era. Well, being born in the late nineties does not officially make me a 90s kid. The Grunge Movement The minimalistic trend goes all the way back to the early 90s, started by the designers behind Calvin Klein and Helmut Lang. Although wearing something simple and understated was not unheard of back then, it was a whole new concept, since everyone thought more must be better. Started as an continuation of the fashion in the 80s, and later extended into the 2000s, the 90s consist of mostly oversize sweaters, denim jackets, crop tops and chunky shoes....
