THERE'S still time to schedule an autistic child for a photo with Santa. Autism Manitoba and the Polo Park Shopping Centre have joined together to hold the city's first Sensitive Santa photo shoot. The mall has agreed to open its doors early on Dec. 4 for families whose autistic children wouldn't be able to handle the normal crowds, music, bell ringers and loud Santa. The event is free, but it is mandatory to pre-register by Nov. 27. Photo packages can be purchased from the photographer. Time slots begin at 9 a.m. and go to noon. Winnipeggers can become elves

THE St. Amant Foundation is looking for volunteers to become Ho-Ho-Holiday elves. The foundation is manning the gift wrap and coat-check station at the St. Vital Centre Community Booth from Dec. 1 to 24, but it needs volunteers to wrap gifts and check coats. Participation is open to families, workplace teams, schools and community groups. Call the Société franco-manitobaine at 233-2556 to schedule a shift. Money raised goes to help children and adults with developmental disabilities and autism.
