Fresno slaying victim identified as boy, 16
The 16-year-old boy who was killed in southwest Fresno on Thursday afternoon was identified Friday by the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
Jose Luis Calderon was attacked by two young men in the area of Church Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard around 4:20 p.m., Fresno County Sheriff's spokesman Chris Curtice said. Calderon was declared dead at the scene.
The two men were last seen running northbound through an apartment complex on the northwest corner of Church Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Witnesses described the men as Hispanic or Asian in their late teens or early 20s. One was reported wearing a gray, white and possibly red striped or checkered hooded jacket and dark baggy pants. The second man was reported wearing a dark hooded jacket and dark colored baggy pants.
